“Changes to the Original Bhagavad-gita”

BY: MUNIPATNI DEVI DASI (ACBSP)

Nov 06, 2010 — SRIDHAM MAYAPUR, WEST BENGAL (SUN) — As I am sitting here reading this article on the “slashing” of our most beloved Srila Prabhupada’s translations and other changes to Srimad Bhagavad-gita, I am gazing at the 1972 McMillan edition I have next to me, that I had received on the streets of Chicago in 1973. My feelings are absolute tenderness and protective with this rare book.

Why, why would anyone DARE to touch even one little letter of Srila Prabhupada’s book unless it was authorized by Srila Prabhupada? After Srila Prabhupada’s departure… that closed the book on any more editing… NOT authorized by Srila Prabhupada himself!!

Jayadvaita Swami should call it “as edited by J.A.S.” — and then let’s see who wants it!

Horrific.

If somebody in Spain would change a word in the DON QUIJOTE from Cervantes or any other mundane literature of any other classic author he will be hanged in a public place, and this fool dares to touch the most wonderful trascendental literature of the most wonderful author who ever stepped into the Western world, but it is not his fault it is our fault for not organizing ourselves and give him what he deserves. Srila Prabhupada will be pleased if we stop so much bla bla bla, and we do what we have to do. All glories to Jagad guru SRILA PRABHUPADA KI JAYA.
