“A special offering from FOLK to Srila Prabhupada”
Thou Art Living in Sound
The following article is dedicated to our beloved spiritual master His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada who eternally lives with his disciples through his infallible words.
“Once, while preaching at the temple book counter, I met a young visitor, pretty much curious to know about the ‘Hare Krishnas’. Taking this as an opportunity to introduce Srila Prabhupada, I explained him about Srila Prabhupada’s struggle and unmatched contribution to this world. In the course of discussion, the anticipated question arose, “Is he (Srila Prabhupada) still living?

Sep 02, 2010 — USA (SUN) — I heard someone ask as I walked by, “I wonder what happened to Sundar?” All I could do was stare and keep walking.
Thirty-one years ago I joined ISKCON Denver, USA. I, like most devotees who have surrendered their lives to Srila Prabhupada, have seen many individuals embarrass Srila Prabhupada and His movement. By their reckless and stupid immoral behavior, these unholy individuals drain the life out of the good, honest, pure devotees of ISKCON, of which there are many.
I used to love giving people the mercy of Srila Prabhupada by giving them a book and preaching His glories to others. Then one day a year after I joined, I was told of the former Temple President who looted the Temple funds and started his own real estate company.

So far as your questions are concerned, in India a sannyasi or a person in the renounced order of life is always honored. Even in this fallen down condition of India a sannyasi is honored everywhere, and he has no problem for his living condition.

He is known to have taken the human form to save the world from the wickedness of demons and to propagate the theory of bhakti and good karma, nearly 5,000 years ago. And Krishna Janmashtami is a celebration of his birth,” says Madhu Pandit Dasa, president, Iskcon, Bangalore.

Srila Prabhupada: “So Kṛṣṇa is adventing today. There is stotra by the demigods. We should read, how Kṛṣṇa protects the demigods or the devotees. We should seek protection of Kṛṣṇa.
This world is so dangerous. It is said, padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadām. Every step there is danger. But if we take shelter, samāśritā ye pada-pallava-plavaṁ mahat-padaṁ puṇya-yaśo murāreḥ, if we take shelter of the lotus feet of Murāri, under whose lotus feet the whole mahat-tattva, cosmic manifestation, is resting, then this big ocean of birth and death, we can cross very easily.” read more…

[...] In the Bhagavad-gita it is said, janma karma ca me divyam yo janati tattvatah.
If you simply know Krishna, what is Krishna, why does He come, why He works like ordinary man — janma karma ca me divyam yo janati tattvatah — in truth, in actual fact. Not that “Oh, Krishna was born in Mathura, and then He was taken to Vrndavana.” This is also knowing. But still, you know what is Krishna.

Aug 31, 2010 — USA (SUN) — Dear Govinda Dasi, please accept my respectful obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I would like to reply to your Letter “Monkey Poo, or Respect for One’s Guru“, published on Sampradaya Sun.
The same questions you where asking, I also have been asking all along for the past 34 years, but I never got any satisfactory answer yet from our so-called ISKCON authorities. But I did find the answers to all of our questions in Srila Prabhupada’s books, which I would like to share with you. You are asking:
“Is it always this way?” The answer is given in SB, 4.28.48, purport:

Srila Prabhupada, June 11, 1974, Paris: [...] Now, we must take to agricultural work–produce food and give protection to the cows. And if we produce a surplus, we can trade.
It is a simple thing that we must do. Our people should live peacefully in farming villages, produce grain and fruit and vegetables, protect the cows, and work hard. And if there is a surplus, we can start restaurants.

Pertinent points he made:
1. On Raga Bhakti:
He talks abt the need for use to enter into raga bhakti to realize our siddha deha, out spiritual form. “Thus some devotees attain knowledge about the moods of Krishna and His Vraja associates from the mouth of the Rasik Vaishnava guru, some from the mouth of the learned Raganuga devotee, and some whose heart has been purified by practicing devotional service will have this knowledge directly revealed to them from within their hearts.” – HG Aindra Das
2. On Sastra’s essential message:
He wants us to read the the higher rasas experienced by Radha and Krishna with the gopis via the books left to us by the sampradaya acaryas. He stresses on the urgency of taking this up. “How can we deem our transcendental book distribution a complete success?
Unless that someone becomes fully absorbed in relishing the braja bhavas as a result of having gained the attraction and greed for them by deeply imbibing the sastras essential message. Work now samadhi later, that’s alright, but what work? and how much later? How later does later have to be, before later to be considered later enough? Later after some future God knows how many births? ” –HG Aindra Das
