Prabhupada, Hawaii, March 5, 1969: […] Because brahmanas do not endeavor for material opulence, apparently they look very poor, but actually, they are rich in knowledge. But people do not care for knowledge, at the present moment at least. They care for material opulence.

They think that this life is meant for highest grade of sense gratification. That is the general thinking. In this city, any city you go, they are struggling very hard. Everyone is trying to get very rich, to get monetary power, so that they can satisfy their senses. Just like I hear from my students that this island, Hawaii, is meant for tourists.

Tourists means they are all rich class of men. They come here to spend money for sense gratification. That is the way of civilization, the modern civilization: “Earn money at any cost. At the risk of all advancement of life, enjoy.” So this is not new thing, but at the present moment in this age, this mentality has increased very improportionately.

So when I came to the compound, to the yard of this house, I was very happy to hear the chanting Hare Krishna, because in this great city of sense gratification, at least in one corner there is the vibration of Hare Krishna mantra.

Today, of course, we find that our, this small endeavor to preach this Hare v mantra is not very successful, but it has got the potency if the workers try for it. Full Lecture

    Before is to late please kindly consider this dear devotees;
“Advancement of any transcendentalist is dependent upon his or her attitude, and the impatient attitude of the newcomers who opt for a rittvik initiation could lead to excruciatingly painful predicaments.
The rittvik newcomer is taught that he can have a connection to Srila Prabhupada. We do not dispute this. Any sincere and faithful devotee can establish a siksa-guru connection with Srila Prabhupada via his books, lectures, etc. The rittvik leaders then teach the newcomers that, if they can have that connection, then Srila Prabhupada can deliver them from nescience both during their lifetimes and at the end (anta-kale). We do not dispute that faithful viewpoint, either. As such, the rittvik proponents then make the big leap: If you can have a connection to a guru who you hope will be your deliverer, then why not formally connect to him and make him your diksa guru?
The simple answer to this question: It’s unauthorized. Can a female devotee become a completely self-realized soul during her lifetime? It’s a rare attainment for anyone, but certainly it is not impossible. If that were to take place for her, can she then wear a brahmin thread? Negative. Can she then carry a tri-danda? Negative. Why? The reason is that such actions are unauthorized according to Vedic and Vaishnava teachings.
There’s a reason why initiations are not to be institutionalized from a diksa guru who is non-manifest. If he is accepted as a siksa guru, then he will help his disciple advance in spiritual life. As the disciple advances, if there is a genuine Vaishnava diksa guru present somewhere, he will help to lead his disciple to that diksa guru.
But if there’s a genuine diksa guru manifest on the Earth, and someone has taken an unauthorized diksa initiation from a non-manifest guru, then that so-called initiated person is disqualified from taking advantage of the authorized process. Even if he wants to renounce the unauthorized rittvik initiation, the genuine diksa guru will probably not accept him as a disciple, seeing how cavalier he had been about the process and responsibilities of initiation into spiritual life. Over and above that, persons who have accepted rittvik initiations may be prone to offend a genuine diksa guru or his disciples. These are some of the pitfalls that loom on the horizon for the unfortunate people who have been duped by the rittvik scam.
What started out as a very good thing–faith in Srila Prabhupada as a siksa guru–winds up as a very bad thing when they impatiently demand to be initiated by him. And the cheaters are there to take advantage of them. The rittvik leaders don’t want the burden of guru, but they do want their semi-devotional congregation. They do want to have some influence and control within that sphere of society, friendship, and love. They want to have their Deity worship and their classes, too. They want to be able to have some congregational chanting. They want it to be the way it used to be, but such retro arrangements are only good if they do not include concoctions.”It’s taken from:http://therealexplanation.org/article/flaws_concoct.html written so nicely and kindly by Kailas Candra das prabhu.

    pamho agtACBSP,
    SRI VISWARUPA MAHOTSAV KI JAI,
today it’s the acceptance day of sannyasa order of life of our beloved acharya Srila Prabhupada, i thought to share some good sat-sanga by remembering the SRI KESAVA GAUDIYA MATH IN SRI MATHURA PURI.

I used to go there every year to celebrate this most auspicious day.
SRILA BHAKTISIDDHANTA SARASVATI THAKUR appeared in dream to SRILA PRABHUPADA by reminding him to take sannyasa.

Prabhupada (His Divine Grace Bhaktiprajnana Kesava Maharaja’s Disappearance Day Lectrue, Seattle, October 21, 1968): One has to accept the renounced order from another person who is in renounced order. So I never thought that I shall accept this renounced order of life. In my family life, when I was in the midst of my wife and children, sometimes I was dreaming my spiritual master, that he’s calling me, and I was following him. When my dream was over, I was thinking. I was little horrified. “Oh, Guru Maharaja wants me to become sannyasi. How can I accept sannyasa?” At that time, I was feeling not very satisfaction that I have to give up my family and have to become a mendicant. At that time, it was a horrible feeling. Sometimes I was thinking, “No, I cannot take sannyasa.” But again I saw the same dream. So in this way I was fortunate. My Guru Maharaja (Prabhupada begins to cry, choked voice) pulled me out from this material life. I have not lost anything. He was so kind upon me. I have gained. I left three children, I have got now three hundred children. So I am not loser. This is material conception. We think that we shall be loser by accepting Krsna. Nobody is loser. I say from my practical experience. I was thinking that “How can I accept this renounced order of life? I cannot accept so much trouble.” So… But I retired from my family life. I was sitting alone in Vrndavana, writing books. So this, my Godbrother, he insisted me, “Bhaktivedanta prabhu…” This title was given in my family life. It was offered to me by the Vaisnava society. So he insisted me. Not he insisted me. Practically my spiritual master insisted me through him, that “You accept.” Because without accepting the renounced order of life, nobody can become a preacher. So he wanted me to become a preacher. So he forced me through this Godbrother, “You accept.” So unwillingly I accepted. And then I remembered that he wanted me to go to the Western country. So I am feeling now very much obliged to my, this Godbrother, that he carried out the wish of my spiritual master and enforced me to accept this sannyasa order.

So this Godbrother, His Holiness Kesava Maharaja, is no more. He has entered Krsna’s abode. So I wish to pass a resolution of bereavement and send them. So… And I have composed one verse also in this connection in Sanskrit. So you all present, you sign this. I shall send it tomorrow. The verse I have composed, it is in Sanskrit. Vairagya-vidya-nija-bhakti-yogam. This Krsna consciousness is vairagya-vidya.

Acceptance day of sannyasa of SRILA PRABHUPADA ki jai,

    ys
