At its recent meetings in Mumbai, India, the Governing Body Commission (GBC) of ISKCON passed a resolution regarding Mahanidhi Swami (photo). That resolution is found below followed by a brief excerpt of the GBC Executive Committee’s letter to Mahanidhi Swami’s disciples and followers.
It is Resolved that:
Mahanidhi Swami has stated that he has resigned from ISKCON, therefore he is suspended as initiating guru and sannyasi within ISKCON. We would like Mahanidhi Swami to return to ISKCON. Should he choose to do so, he should approach the GBC Executive Committee, and assisted by the Sannyasa Ministry, agree upon a complete program for his rectification and reinstatement.
The letter to Mahanidhi Swami’s followers contains the following:
We want to offer our appreciation for your courage and humility in approaching the GBC Executive Committee with your concerns regarding Mahanidhi Swami’s problematic behavior.
We know that it was difficult and painful for you to come forward. We also know that you did so only after multiple, genuine efforts to assist your diksha guru by speaking with him directly.
We respect the sincerity of your efforts to help him, and we respect that you approached the GBC in a sincere mood of doing what was best for both Mahanidhi Swami and ISKCONi
We encourage you–especially at this time–to take shelter of Srila Prabhupada and his instructions, as he is the preeminent siksha guru for all ISKCON devotees.
We also encourage you to take shelter of other senior devotees in ISKCON. As long as you continue to take guidance of Srila Prabhupada and his sincere followers and remain strict in your spiritual practices, you will be safe and secure under Lord Krishna’s protection.
The GBC Executive Committee also wishes to request the devotees of ISKCON to offer their prayers for Mahanidhi Swami. We also request all ISKCON devotees to extend their full support, friendship and understanding to the disciples and followers of Mahanidhi Swami, who themselves are remaining as faithful followers of Srila Prabhupada and his ISKCON society.

In 1965 Srila Prabhupada arrived with exactly this spirit in New York: Lord Caitanya’s Sankirtan movement is a cultural presentation for the respiritualization of the entire human society.
Srila Prabhupada always was confident of victory that Bhagavata knowledge is perfect, without any defect.
From begin with Prabhupada instructed that a bona fide spiritual master never has any symptom of “problematic behavior” or that a Vaishnava acharya requires rectification by a board of conditioned jivas.
Now the very instrument for maintaining transcendental purity within Lord Caitanya’s Sankirtan movement, the GBC, proclaims that spiritual masters in the line of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu additionally cause “difficulty and painful situation” upon already suffering humanity.
Every time when another ISKCON guru falls they come up with the same slogan: “We encourage you–especially at this time–to take shelter of Srila Prabhupada and his instructions, as he is the preeminent siksha guru for all ISKCON devotees.”
Reminds of a funeral where people are sorrow-stricken, concerned and fighting back tears. Shortly afterwards they again eat, drink and joke at the funeral feast as if nothing has happened.
Next morning GBC again giving class and talking about, ritvik madness. This is the eternal and universal greatest wonder in the material world.
Every year we see pseudo gurus failing. But those who are sitting on the vyasasana he is thinking, “I will emerge as hero”.
Meanwhile, one of the original eleven “acaryas” is preaching the following on his website (http://www.bhagavanacbsp.com/biography2.php). The site has a photo of Srila Prabhupada on the cover yet he is directly contradicting His Divine Grace here and in other places on the website:
“The way of sexuality is described in depth in the Kama Sutras. At its height, sexuality is meant to be a meditation in pleasing and understanding your partner and simultaneously opening a channel to God and the creative and healing force within each person. All are meant to be satisfied. After all, sex is part of the creation and the Creators cannot be separated from Their Creation. Spiritual sex opens the heart and mind to receiving information and communication. IT IS NOT SIMPLY AN ITCH THAT IS MEANT TO BE SCRATCHED. As we invite God into our food, our thoughts, our meditation, our work, sex is no exception. IF HOWEVER, YOU JUDGE ALL SEX OTHER THAN FOR PROCREATION AS A WEAKNESS OR BEING ILLICIT, YOU DENY YOU ARE PART AND PARCEL OF THE SEXUAL ENERGY OF GOD. Anything can be misused and abused. Spirituality means not denying God’s presence and involvement in anything we do.”
Even worse, we find the following comments which subtly suggest that Prabhupada was an ordinary human being who made mistakes:
“Sometimes in our awe and reverence for him, Prabhupāda’s human nature was overlooked. At times we saw his emotions when the poor were going hungry or when a close disciple would leave, his disturbance when his godbrothers criticized his work, when he became weak from illness, or in the end when he took time to assure the well being of his former wife and family and apologize to his godbrothers for his annoyance with them. In his attempt to create a social body he tried many things. Some worked well some didn’t. This is in no way a criticism but a recognition and respect for the humanness that paralleled his enlightenment.”
Even now are after so many years, this person appears to be as egotistical as ever, thinking himself more intelligent than his own guru.
Very much agreed…the ‘young’ horses see the ‘older’ stronger horses getting swept away by the fast flowing river, yet they think – oh I can definitely get across safely.
The desire to become ‘guru’ is the first disqualification. They have reduced the position of ‘Diksa-guru’ to no more than the local TP, SKP leader or whatever, while Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON (Founder and ETERNAL acarya) burns with deceit and lies.
