PADA: “Not following Chaturmasya?”

"Prabhupada did not so much blame the fallen rank and file for "not following""

PADA, July 30, 2010 — Dear Jessica, This also occured in the Gaudiya Matha after 1936, their false gurus created a mass exodus of the devotees, so Srila Prabhupada says most of their devotees went back to material life, and most of them thus ended up not only not following Ch…aturmasya, they were sitting at tea shops drinking tea, smoking beedis, and there was even a big wife-swapping scandal, so many things like that.

Srila Prabhupada blames mainly the bogus guru leaders for removing these people from their devotional situation, he said after they were ejected by these bogus gurus, they mostly went back to material life and could not follow the principles.

So, most of the current ex-ISKCON devotees are part of the same identical exodus from false gurus, so they are now often — drinking tea, ooops sometimes wife swapping, if not smoking pot, in Badger they were growing huge pot plants, so the reason this occured was, according to Srila Prabhupada is, these false gurus, he did not so much blame the fallen rank and file for “not following”.

Rather he said after 1936 these false gurus created a bad environment which drove away the rank and file and so they fell down after going back to mundane life, but the leaders forced them out. Most of the devotees I know work two or even three jobs, they do not even have time to do much of anything, they were ejected from ISKCON and now they are struggling to do a few basics.

After 1936 there were a few Jessica’s wondering why no one was following, forgetting the root issue, they were kicked out back to material life. ys pd
