Gokulananda das: Kanistha-adhikaris Thinking They’re Maha-bhagavats

Kanistha-adhikaris Thinking They’re Maha-bhagavats

Dear Prabhus, after reading the recent article, ” Answering All of Rasaprema’s Questions “, it is not surprising that devotees all around the world are confused about what has actually been going on in ISKCON for the last 33 years.

Murders, drug trafficking, bogus money-making ventures, banishments from temples for simply asking questions, re-initiations, taking siksa from people whom Srila Prabhupada warned us that rather than helping will only hinder, etc, etc, etc.

I would like to make the following statement.

ALL PROBLEMS IN ISKCON SINCE SRILA PRABHUPADA LEFT US ARE DOWN TO ONE SOLE MISTAKE – KANISTHA-ADHIKARIS THINK THEY HAVE BECOME MAHA-BHAGAVATS. BAS.

This includes gurus selling temples they were specifically ordered never to sell by Srila Prabhupada (and don’t look for exceptional circumstances, which never included the desire for name, fame, ESPECIALLY FORTUNE and glory).

It includes silly little boys concocting things, like making a jeweled crown, orb and scepter to put on Srila Prabhupada’s murti, then having the cheek to wear it themselves for their own “vyasa puja”.

It includes “fully liberated souls” falling down to the level of being VOMIT-EATERS, yes, dogs do eat their own vomit — ever heard the expression CHEWING THE CHEWED, and as anyone who has actually taken the time to read Srila Prabhupada’s books will know, any sannyasi who “falls-down” immediately becomes such a vomit eater.

It includes ALL AND ANY DEVIANCE.

Come on Prabhus, better to admit that we are fallen sinners than pretending to be something that we are not.

Better, let us aspire to be THE DOG OF A VAISNAVA — RATHER THAN THE MASTER OF DOGS. (Oh, and in case anyone thinks I’m calling devotees dogs, I’m not– only those fools who willingly follow these bogus “gurus” to their destination, as enunciated in the Isopanisad, after their GURU-BUSINESS).

SRI ISOPANISAD

“The pseudo religionists have neither knowledge nor detachment from material affairs, for most of them want to live in the golden shackles of material bondage under the shadow of philanthropic activities disguised as religious principles.

“They ignore the Vedic injunction acaryaupsana – “One must worship the acarya” – and Krsna’s statement in the Bhagavad-gita (4.2) evam parampara-praptam, “This supreme science of God is received through the disciplic succession.” Instead, to mislead the people in general they themselves become so-called acaryas, but they do not even follow the principles of the acaryas.

“By a false display of religious sentiments, they present a show of devotional service while indulging in all sorts of immoral activities . In this way they pass as spiritual masters and devotees of God. Such violators of religious principles have no respect for the authoritative acaryas, the holy teachers in the strict disciplic succession (…) Instead, to mislead the people in general, they themselves become so-called acaryas, but do not even follow the principles of the acaryas .”

“ These rogues are the most dangerous elements in human society . Because there is no religious government, they escape punishment by the law of the state. They cannot, however, escape the law of the Supreme, who has clearly declared in the Bhagavad-gita that envious demons in the garb of religious propagandists shall be thrown into the darkest regions of hell (Bg. 16.19-20).

Sri Isopanisad confirms that these pseudo religionists are heading toward the most obnoxious place in the universe after the completion of their spiritual master business, which they conduct simply for sense gratification .”

( from Srila Prabhupada’s Sri Isopanasad Mantra 12 )

The fate of disciples following a bogus guru

“As for your next question: ‘Can only a few pure devotees deliver others?’ Anyone, if he is pure devotee, he can deliver others. He can become spiritual master. But unless he is on that platform, he should not attempt it. Then they will both go to hell , like blind men leading the blind .” (Letter to Tusta Krishna from Ahmedabad , Dec. 14, 1972)

One cannot become happy by accepting a false guru . A guru should be accepted as advised in Srimad Bhagavatam (11.3.21). Tasmad gurum prapadyeta jijnasuh sreya uttamam : One should approach a bona fide guru to inquire about the highest benefit of life. (…) If one is able to obtain the dust of the lotus feet of such a guru, his life becomes successful. Otherwise he is baffled both in this life and in the next.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 5.14.13, purport)

“The misguided conditioned soul also approaches so-called sadhus and svamis who preach against the principles of the Vedas. He does not receive benefit from them, either in the present or in the future (…)To get some material benefit, the conditioned soul approaches these pseudosannyasis and yogis for cheap blessings, but he does not receive any benefit from them, either spiritual or material.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 5.14.13, translation and purport)

“The sastras enjoin that before we take a guru we study him carefully to find out whether we can surrender to him. We should not accept a guru suddenly, out of fanaticism . That is very dangerous.” (The Science of Self Realization, chapter 2, ‘Choosing a Spiritual Master’)

“One should take initiation from a bona fide spiritual master coming in the disciplic succession, who is AUTHORIZED BY HIS PREDECESSOR SPIRITUAL MASTER. This is called diksa-vidhana .” (S.B. 4.8.54, purport)

Prabhupada : Yes. Of course, to search out a guru is very nice, but if you want a cheap guru, or if you want to be cheated, then you will find many cheating gurus. But if you are sincere, you will find a sincere guru. Because people want everything very cheaply, they are cheated.
