PADA: Gaudiya Matha history parallel to ISKCON

Oct 19, 2010 — USA (PADA) — Srila Prabhupada asked Sridhara Maharaja to help his mission in 1971, and become the president of India ISKCON, as far as I recall.

This was a smart political move since this would have pacified the angry God brothers who were attacking him for using the title of Srila Prabhupada etc., because Sridhara was one of their big men at the time. It would have helped stop the fratricidal war, and given Srila Prabhupada control over one of the biggest factional leaders.

And then Sridhara Maharaja — as his subordinate — would have been under his control. Of course Sridhara Maharaja refused, he had no interest in giving up his post as what Srila Prabhupada called “self-appointed acharya.”

Srila Prabhupada later on said, Sridhara Maharaja and his associates always wanted him to be their subordinate, he was a paccha grhastha in their opinion, I believe this is in one of the BBT “conversations” book.

So yes, its a fact, according to Srila Prabhupada, Sridhara Maharaja started a violent guru cult of Ananta Vasudeva, dissenters were beaten and murdered, this caused terrible newspaper media stories in India, and then his biggest “guru” commited suicide.

And as we all know now, then after 1977, Sridhara maharaha encouraged another violent guru cult, and the result was the same, dissenting people were banned and murdered, and one of his closest new puppy gurus, Hansadutta, put a gun to his head and wanted to commit suicide, at least according to Dasa Goravani, so Sridhara is the founder of illicit sex and suicide gurus cults, and he is their biggest cheer leader advocate too.

The Sridhara maharaja folks say there is another tape where Srila Prabhupada begged Sridhara Maharaja to take over after 1977, but that tape does not exist. Its a myth. ys pd
