“Our focus is on surrender to the blissful instructions of our (everyone’s) spiritual master Srila Prabhupada”

Priitaa dd  |  Nov 13 |  2010 | Yahoo Group Prabhupada Jagat Guru — Before starting the quote, I wanted to mention a thought I’ve been having. I noticed members of my other egroups joining here which is great. Some stay, some leave, and I often feel those who left had a question but could not ask it due to the format etc of this group.

Originally it was not no-post, but that resulted in so many trying to advertise their own guru, their own links, arguing, giving a hard time, or posting huge lectures for the purpose of making a personal point. This group is clearly marked on the front page as a Prabhupada group.

It was taking too much out of me to read all the links, plus the links behind the links, to make sure they were in synch for here, as well as to debate other devotees which sometimes even makes me feel bad. I really have no interest in debates, but in getting more and more clear on Prabhupada’s teachings by reading and re-reading them, and not what anyone else thinks, just him.

With that said….. when I see those new to Krishna Consciousness leave, which actually hasn’t been a lot but… I wish to find a way to reach out to them that is simultaneously doable for myself. At the moment want to make sure I’m not biting off more than I can chew, but am thinking of having one day a week were I take the group off of no-post and put it on ‘post’ so anyone can ask questions.

This idea is still up in the air, because even some of the most sincere devotees want to publish ‘their thing,’ and with all due respect, even that would not be my purpose of opening group for chat one day a week. My only purpose would be so the newer members could ask their… “THEIR” questions, and I will reply, or anyone could ask a question over something they are confused over, if it was truly sincere and not just used as an opportunity to swing things in their own direction. (Yes, unfortunately I have met many who like to play this game).

Hmmm Let me think about this, but I am feeling drawn to doing it, if all else can cooperate that is. 🙂 Now, on to the quote of the day. ~ Priitaa dd

The Science of Self Realization
By His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Prabhupada, New York, July 21, 1971: […] God does not interfere with your little independence. If you want to act according to the order of God, then God will help you. Even if you fall down sometimes, if you become sincere–“From this time on I shall remain Krishna conscious and execute His orders”–then Krishna will help you. In all respects, even if you fall down, He will excuse you and give you more intelligence. This intelligence will say, “Don’t do this. Now go on with your duty.” But if you want to forget Krishna, if you want to become happy without Krishna, He will give you so many chances that you will forget Krishna life after life.

Pariksit Maharaja says here, “It is not that if I say there is no God then there will be no God or I will not be responsible for what I do.” That is the atheistic theory. Atheists do not want God, because they are always sinful–if they thought that there were God, then they would be forced to shudder at the thought of punishment. Therefore they deny the existence of God. That is their process. They think that if they do not accept God then there is no punishment and they can do whatever they like.

When rabbits are being attacked by bigger animals, they close their eyes and think, “I am not going to be killed.” But they are killed anyway. Similarly, we may deny the existence of God and the law of God, but still God and His law are there. In the high court you may say, “I don’t care for the law of the government,” but you will be forced to accept the government law.

If you deny the state law, then you will be put into prison and be caused to suffer. Similarly, you may foolishly decry the existence of God–“There is no God” or “I am God”–but nevertheless you are responsible for all your actions, both good and bad.”
