Removed from Our Own Master’s House!

Prabhupada's feetTamohara Prabhu, Mar 19 2009, MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA — Dear Prabhus, I regularly read Sampradaya Sun, and am bemused that some still say “don’t leave ISKCON”, especially the nice Indian devotees. Prabhus, kindly wake up. We have been forcibly run out of our own Spiritual Master’s temples by usurpers. It is not that we chose to leave!
Some of us cannot abide living a lie, and hate to see innocent others being abused, such as new devotees who do not know any better, what to speak of higher matters such as Srila Prabhupada’s directives being fully followed. When we speak up, we are accused of being deviants and envious, then the so-called authorities accuse us of being disloyal to ISKCON, they spread lies and blasphemies by Internet and word-of-mouth, and thus maneuver so as to find any number of excuses to ask the temple boards to remove us from our own master’s house!

Many of us have been abused in this way, and it still goes on full steam, even as we speak. It is an unconscionable sin that causes incalculable damage! The devotees have sacrificed their every energy and emotion for Krsna’s service. To abuse renunciants in this way is the worst crime, unbelievable, except that it is true. The perpetrators will surely suffer in hell for this severe abuse.

I humbly advise approaching Bangalore temple as one alternative; otherwise there are options, just as our Srila Prabhupada left the Gaudiya Matha. The Gaudiya Matha may be reformed now, it is not my place to judge. My obeisances to all sincere devotees and aspirants, but what is important is the precedent which Srila Prabhupada placed. Yes, like Gour Govinda Swami, we can tolerate any number of offenses, but unlike him, when we Westerners are kicked out we also suffer, as imperfect individuals will.

Your servant,

Tamoharadasa
