Cultivation of love of God: that is the definition of first-class religion. Just as there are three gunas, or three qualities, in the material world, there are various religions, each situated in one of the three modes. We are not, however, concerned with analyzing these religious conceptions.

For us, the purpose of religion is to understand God and to learn how to love God. That is the real purpose of any first-class religious system. If a religion does not teach love of God, it is useless. One may follow his religious principles very carefully, but if one does not possess love of God, his religion is null and void.

According to Srimad-Bhagavatam (1.2.6) real religion must be ahaituki and apratihata: without selfish motivation and without impediment. By practicing such a religion, we will become happy in all respects.

    pamho agtACBSP,

thank you for posting this article!

Actually I was just thinking that nowadays it is not important to know the way how we came in this material world but the way how we get out of this world is more important.

As we can see a lot of people leave this world by getting torture and more suffering, in the beginning we forced Krsna to let us come in this world like a childish desire, a child is doing when wanting something from the parents but the parents know there is nothing it’s just an illusion.

In the same way Krsna advices everyone not to come in this dukhalayam asasvatam temporary and full of misery world.

As soon we plan something as soon as someone else is planing too on top and when we get here there is nothing because everything is taking place under the three modes of illusory material nature whose main function is to maintain in goodness to create in passion and to destroy in ignorance.

Adho gacchanti tamasah one who leaves the body in tamo guna, ignorance, has to go to hell, madhye tisthanti rajasah, to leave the body in rajo guna keeps one to take birth again in the middle planets and urdhvam gacchanti sattva stha to leave the body in sattvam guna promotes one to live in heaven for a little while.

But pure goodness of Krsna consciousness coming from the daily sadhana bhakti practice given by SRILA PRABHUPADA makes even a low class born to know God and to love HIM by ending this up down of taking birth again through the three gunas of material nature.

Again and again, when Brahma’s day arrives, all living entities come into being, and with the arrival of Brahma’s night they are helplessly annihilated. (BG 8.9)

Of course this loving service must be ahaituki apratihata to satisfy the soul completely, atma suprasidati.

Prabhupada: But bhakti-marga is transcendental. It does not depend on the qualities of this material nature. Ahaituki apratihata. Ahaituki. Apratihata. Nothing can check bhakti-marga. Even one is in the platform of ignorance, it cannot check. It cannot check. Ahaituki apratihata. Because it is purely spiritual. It does not depend on material conditions. It does not depend on material… These goodness, passion, ignorance, they are material conditions. So bhakti does not depend on material conditions.
Revatinandana: Why is it then, that one person accepts it and another rejects it?
    Prabhupada: That is his choice.
Revatinandana: That is from a spiritual position, his basic disposition?
Prabhupada: That is his choice, yes. We have got this independence, to accept or not to accept. (July 11,1973, London)

Actually it is better to chant Hare Krsna Mahamantra as much as we can by trying our best to not take birth again by finding out our eternal relationship with SRI GURU GAURANGA through the special mercy of HDG ACBSP.

HE already got that prem puman artho mahan love for Krsna because HE is a tattva darshinah, someone who knows and sees the truth.

Prabhupada, Feb 4, 1975, Hawaii: He should not be guru unless he is able to protect his disciple from the imminent danger of death. Na mocayed yah samupeta-mrityum. This cycle of birth and death is going on. Guru’s business is how to stop this cycle of birth and death. And it is not very difficult. Teach him to understand Krsna, and Krsna is assuring, “If anyone understands Me nicely, then after giving up this body he comes to Me.” Where is the difficulty? Give him Krsna consciousness, and he is saved from birth and death.
