Prabhupada, Sanand, December 26, 1975: […] Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, krsna-bhakta niskama: “A devotee of Krishna is not desirous of anything, either bhukti, mukti, or siddhi.” The purport is, so long you desire something, you’ll never get peace of mind. And a bhakta does not desire anything. He is satisfied with any position, whatever is offered to him by Krishna.

narayana-parah sarve na kutascana bibhyati svargapavarga-narakesv api tulyartha-darsinah

Anyone who is narayana-parayana, he does not fear whether he is going to hell or heaven. Because wherever he goes he is with Narayana, he is safe. It doesn’t matter whether it is hell or heaven. That is offered by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in His prayer,

na dhanam na janam na sundarim kavitam va jagadisa kamaye mama janmani janmanisvare bhavatad bhaktir ahaituki tvayi

The idea is that a bhakta does not require any material happiness or distress. He does not require any monistic proposition to merge into the existence of the Supreme. Full Lecture

    pamho agtACBSP,
thank you for posting this nice article on peace of mind which can be obtained by renunciation only, says all the sastra.

As soon as we desire something by lording over Krsna’s property, as soon as we are devoid of pure bhakti seva by desiring mukti, bhukti and siddhi, there cannot be peacefulness. There is no question of peacefulness.

To reach the platform of perfection takes many, many lives (bahunam janmanam ante jnanavan mam prapadyate [Bg. 7.19]). Nonetheless, even without undergoing severe austerities, one can attain perfection by Srila Prabhupada’s mercy.

Devotional service should be unmotivated and free from impediments (ahaituky apratihata yayatma suprasidati). This is the position of nirasisah, or freedom from expectations for results.

Then we can be saved and SRILA PRABHUPADA comes to rescue us as HE has already done with the first french sannyasi who died in a hospital.

SRILA PRABHUPADA came to rescue him in hospital and the doctors told the devotees that the last words of the ex-sannyasi were: “Oh! SRILA PRABHUPADA you came!”

Prabhupada used to say that even a small service done with pure devotion to a pure devotee of Krsna produces unlimited benefits.

This fallen sannyasi was still so lucky because he did a lot of pure devotional service for SRILA PRABHUPADA’s mission.

Therefore he got rescued and saved even outside the temple without any kirtan around. SRILA PRABHUPADA is a niskama bhakta therefore HE can save anyone who sincerely offered HIM a service in a selfless mood, all the others bogus gurus have not this power to save their own disciples because they are not niskama bhaktas,
