I have read many times the statement of Srila Prabhupada where He says He will live through His books. Many times I used to read on Internet articles that Srila Prabhupada is not physically present on the planet. And after reading some of these kinds of articles, I also started thinking and writing to my friends statements like, “His physical absence”, “After His physical departure”, “posthumous”, etc. With all these statements, today I realize that “I am rascal No. 1”. Yes, I was a rascal and am a rascal.
So silly of me. Srila Prabhupada says that He will always live through His books. Are Srila Prabhupada books not physically present? When we are holding, reading, or distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books, are we not in physical touch. Are we not in physical touch with Srila Prabhupada Himself? Srila Prabhupada is individually talking to everyone though His transcendental books. So the conclusion is, SRILA PRABHUPADA is PHYSICALLY PRESENT as HIS BOOKS ARE PHYSICALLY PRESENT.
I have the original Macmillan edition of Bhagavad Gita As It Is, which was gifted to me by the temple when I joined the ashram at ISKCON Bangalore’s Hare Krishna Hill. I joined the ashram three times and I was gifted three copies – one each time!!! I am so fortunate to get three copies of Srila Prabhupada’s original masterpiece. I have some other original books which I have borrowed from my elder relatives. Srila Prabhupada’s original books are just too wonderful…….. No comparison to His original books.
Srila Prabhupada is guiding me, through His original books, to be sincere and give up material propensities while being engaged in the service of Their Lordships.
My request to my friends – please join the ashram, get your copy of the original book which will guide you about the ABC’s of spiritual life, and be fortunate like all of us who have joined the ashram at some point in our lives.
I pray to Srila Prabhupada to re-engage me as a full-time devotee in Your transcendental mission, as trying to peacefully practice Krishna consciousness being secluded in family life is not the best thing. The best thing is to be right in the ISKCON Vaikuntha center, right in the thick of the crowd of the city trying to propagate Krishna consciousness simultaneously while practicing it.
Lord, please train me and engage me in Your service, which I have been unable to do so since the time I have left the guidance of Your senior devotees and tried to practice Krishna consciousness in seclusion, in so-called family life in which I have to actually please You.
