Endangered Species: Srila Prabhupada’s Disciples

A few weeks ago my godsister
was crying so sincerely on Skype
She was frustrated, heartbroken with politics
all ISKCON’s deviations, news ,GBC/guru’s hype

So many saintly Prabhus have come to Prabhupada’s
lotus feet. Got Initiation and sacrificed all
Only to get throw out, ridiculed, ignored by
their GBC, Guru, godbrothers, who put them
out in the street.

I asked please don’t cry, my heart skipped a beat
as I was one of those, like her, put out in the street.
She asked me WHY, did Lord Krsna let this happen?
I could not answer her, maybe we let it happen?

How could my GBC guru godbrothers hurt so many and
abandon us as if we were just useless?
Maybe they need Krsna’s mercy to open their eyes
to see the wrongness of their ongoing abusiveness.

I wonder out loud, why “All my godbrothers and sisters”
can’t take an active part in the movement they sweated
blood, tears and their youth for in the society they made start.
Srila Prabhupada I’m sure will never forget their sincere part.

It’s time the GBC and gurus awoke from the slumber they sleep
and remember the words from the Holy Bible
It’s our Brothers/Sisters we should keep, not put any more prabhus
so carelessly into the street.

Prabhupada’s disciples have something to offer.
Although it may not be in money to fill your coffer.
It’s decades experience, knowledge, truth and bliss
Something the GBC body just had to miss.

We are an endangered species, Prabhupada’s disciples All
We care about ISKCON, even though we are seeing it fall
Despite what people may say, we care about it every day.

We won’t keep Silent about Prabhupupada’s mission gone astray.

This GBC Resolution was made on March 3, 1977, 2:30 p.m., as Ordered by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada’s ORDER to the GBC, months before he left this planet:

GBC Resolution 10

10. Each GBC man is responsible to try to recover the blooped devotees living in his zone.

THIS ORDER was NEVER followed by the GBC Body, even to this day, 2014.

A humble poem and prayer for ISKCON and Srila Prabhupada’s disciples and sincere followers.

Apology to Srila Prabhupada

Dear Srila Prabhupada,

I am writing this because I sincerely regret blaming you for ISKCON’s apparent faults, and because my public apology was recommended by one dedicated disciple of yours.  I’m sure you realize I was practically going crazy over my lack of Krishna consciousness, and I know you would forgive me, but I didn’t think enough of how my mad elephant behavior toward you would offend others to whom you are so dear.

I do not fully understand how the troublesome facts developed, how events happened in ISKCON that were so upsetting to me, but I remember now that I did not come to ISKCON to act as its police.  I came to find Krishna, but experience forces me to admit my commitment to that goal has been mixed at best.

Yet I expected others to behave practically as perfect Vaisnavas.  I judged devotees according to a standard much higher than I could keep myself, the opposite of what is advised for spiritual progress.  Because of this, I became critical of devotees at every level, my faith was destroyed by it, and I decided Krishna or God must be imaginary and became an opponent of theism. I tested whether you would save me from such gross ignorance, and now I am ashamed.

So I have again become a mouse, trapped by maya.

I doubt I’ve learned all that I should from this, but I’ve learned something. I need your mercy. Please save me from my foolishness and do something useful with me.
