First-class flower has no brain behind it? Is that very good logic?

Even from artistic point of view, if you want to paint one flower, you have to take so much labor, so many colors, reflection, and so many instruments, then hardly you can paint one nice rose flower. Still, it is not as good. And not at all good in comparison to the original flower. So if this third-class flower, you have to apply so much brain, and this first-class flower has no brain behind it? Is that very good logic? What is this logic? There must be brain. And that is stated here: punyo gandhah prthivyam ca tejas casmi vibhavasau, aham. “It is My, under My superintendence.”

You are painting one picture, one flower, very nice flower. You have to take your brush, the color and the plate, so many things, and you are taxing your brain, how to make it beautiful. But you see one rose flower in the garden. Not only one rose flower, many millions of rose flowers, they are coming out very artistically painted. But when we ask, the answer is that “It is nature.” But if we go deep into the matter, what is this nature? Nature means a working instrument, that’s all, an energy. That is nature.

There is energy or sakti, energy, power. There is power. Without power, how the rose flower is coming to beautiful shape from the bud? There is power. That power is Krsna’s power. But that is so subtle and working so nicely that overnight we see that a beautiful flower has come out. But there is working, there is brain. But they are working so swiftly and subtly, we cannot see how it is being worked. Just like when you paint one picture, I can see, everyone can see that you are working. But this painting or this working of the actual rose flower, that is also being worked out by several energies. Don’t think that is has coming out automatically. No. Nothing comes out automatically. It is coming out of the energy of the Supreme Lord, but the energies are so subtle, nice and artistic that all of a sudden you see a nice flower.

So He is the greatest artist. Just like nowadays, the electronic age, the artist or the scientist just pushing on one button and it is working so nicely.

Just like here, they’re painting flower on the wall. It takes so much time, so much arrangement. Still, it is not as good as a natural flower. Here you have painted one rose flower, and here are roses. There is art also, and here is art also. Without art, without artistic sense, how this nice thing, beautiful thing, can come in? You’ll find a beautiful flower bloom in a plant, you appreciate it. And don’t think, as the rascal says, “By nature it has come automatically.” No. The same energy as you are taking, you are applying your energy to paint a flower on the wall with your paints and brushes… But Krsna is also doing that, but His energy is so inconceivable that we cannot see how He’s working. But He’s working. Otherwise why Krsna says, mayadhyaksena prakrtih: [Bg. 9.10] “Prakrti is working under My direction”? Is it a bluff? No. Actually prakrti is acting under His direction.
If you have got to paint one picture, one flower, oh, you have to take so much attention, and still, it may not be symmetrical. There may be some mistake. But in nature’s way you see how many flowers, fruits and so many things are coming out automatically. Foolish people, they think it is being done automatically. No. Behind this thing there is the brain of Krsna, behind everything. And because we do not see how it is being done due to our lack of knowledge, our less intelligence, we think it is being automatically done.

If you are a painter, if you paint such a flower, it will take so many days. But it is coming. But don’t think simply that it has come automatically. No. There is no such thing as automatically. Same as you, when you paint a flower, you have to employ so much energy, so Krsna has also do that, the same energy. But it is because it is so natural for Krsna, svabhaviki jnana-bala-kriya ca. Simply by His willing, it is happening. So He hasn’t got to endeavor for it. That is the difference between Krsna’s activities and our activity, although we have got the tendency at least.
