St. Patrick’s Day Madness – We are Not Irish
BY: KRISHNA DAS
Mar 18, 2017 — ENGLAND (SUN) —
Ok, the devotee who is responsible for this is a great guy and dedicated to the cause of spreading the Holy Names, fair play, but when he starts to ram this Saint Patrick’s Day madness down our throats, well it’s a step too far. People buy into this idea.
I admit I did it once wear the green hat and tinsel, but thought deeply about it afterwards and asked myself if Srila Prabhupada would have done all this.
Prabhu, we know your body was born in Ireland and as devotees that does not concern us.
Dress in green…. Ok, on Xmas let’s all dress in red, on Easter lets wear rabbit suits, on Hanuman jayanti let’s wear monkey suits. Next will be gay pride and we’ll wear rainbow dhotis, etc. Where will it end?
Let’s dress Prabhupada and the Deities in green and shamrocks and make them look like lepracauns, and also Lord Jagannath’s cart green as well… actually, let’s make everything green.
Saint Patrick has nothing to do with Gaudiya Vaisnavism, and trying to get out of this material world isn’t about having fun based on painting, wearing green and turning Jagannath ratha yatra into St. Patrick’s Day ratha yatra.
Using the Deities as an advert for this day is a bit over the top as well. Come on prabhu, please don’t do this. What kind of message are you sending to the youth and again, what would Prabhupada have said?
Please come dressed in green!
Do you like Deities As ‘Dress Up’ Dolls???
I love IskCon concoctions – this ist the best 🙂
John Roberts – Mr & Mrs Claus? What has ISKCON’s Deity worship standard degraded to? Sahajiya sentimentalists. The standard of little girls playing with dolls? Why ISKCON should play into the hands of ‘father Christmas’ commercialism is beyond me? What has this to do with Krishna Consciousness? A toy sack and a Christmas tree on a altar? Shame on you for playing dress up with the Supreme Personality of Godhead!
For a start Patrick was NOT a saint. Patrick was a mass murderer of the Druids (who were vegetarians and followed Vedic culture). He was not Irish but Italian and an agent of Pope Leo and the Roman Emperor Valentinian 111. Why would Vaisnavas ”celebrate” the destruction of vedic culture and the mass murder of it’s followers? Does this make any sense? This is all just a pack of lies created by the Papists who are some of the most evil and degraded ‘pseudo religionists’ on the planet….liars and sanctimonius hypocrites.
