I wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has encouraged and supported our efforts towards implementing the second 50% of Srila Prabhupada’s mission. The video above gives a brief glimpse into our activities during the “off” time of the year, a season when there is plenty of time for spiritual activities as well as being able to offer Their Lordships the fruits of the harvest.
I recently got an e-mail from a devotee who joined Srila Prabhupada early on and assisted Srila Prabhupada to establish the Krsna consciousness movement. Here is what he wrote in that e-mail:
Sometime in the last weeks ( Probably early October ) Kirtanananda Swami arrived in Vrindavan , some of us , Tamal Krsna Goswami Hari souri Prabhu, myself and one or two others were with Srila Prabhupada as he was looking at a photo album brought by Kirtananada Swami showing the progress of New Vrindavan. At one point Srila Prabhupada said “ Now 50% of my movement is complete, we have published some important books, we have trained some experienced men and constructed and opened some temples.
Now if I SURVIVE, the next 50% of my movement will be to develop this idea of SIMPLE LIVING AND HIGH THINKING…… but if I don’t survive , will you do it ? , There was a long uncomfortable silence silence…. so I finally spoke up and said “ Yes Prabhupada we will do it “ … then I had a second thought “ then realizing I could not speak for the others I said “ Yes Prabhupada I will do it “
