Thank you for this post. I have always enjoyed the work of Yadubara prabhu. I have not seen it and will never watch it. Why? Because the film during its run to the end dos not allow Srila Prabhupada to continue with his service by allowing the world to surrender to his lotus feet and become a disciple or even a dedicated follower. If one wants to become a Hare Krsna devotee one has to surrender to the ISKCON Multiple Acharya Successor System. I have asked multiple questions of those who have seen the film by the way.
Much like taking tourists on an outside tour of a grand mansion by giving the history on how it was built and when but never allowing them inside to see the interior and file through all of its amazing rooms. To see the drapes, furniture and view the outside from inside it’s fine windows.while being amazed by the art work hanging on it’s walls.
Now I am not suggesting anything by this. This was a grand effort and I am sure heartfelt and dedicated with love for Srila Prabhupada by the film makers. Was this in the end just a recruitment effort by ISKCON simply using Srila Prabhupada’s legacy as an recruitment poster?
In my opinion they should re cut this film and add to the end how one can become a devotee or follower of Srila Prabhupda, take initiation and get access to his first edition books. Or now that it is out for free those of us who wish may now use it as a recruitment for Srila Prabhupada as the Living Guru that he is.
Perhaps Yadubara and his good wife Visakha Devi Dasi had this idea in mind all along.
When the film came out I was on a list of devotees contacted by Yadubara prabhu and gave him my most respectful opinion on what the film lacked in the end so he knows where I am coning from. He never responded.
At last the movie say: ‘Lord Chaitanya’ s movement is in your hands. “
The following is taken from Varuthini Ekadasi which falls on April 19th as described in the Bhavishya-uttara Purana.
“Yet learned scholars have declared that giving away a young maiden in marriage to a worthy person is equal to giving away food grains in charity. Moreover, Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, has said that giving cows in charity is equal to giving food grains. Still better than all these charities is teaching spiritual knowledge to the ignorant. Yet all the merits one can attain by performing all these acts of charity are attained by one who fasts on the Varuthini Ekadasi.”
Dear Readers, I find this very significant ;
” Still better than all these charities is teaching spiritual knowledge to the ignorant ” .
All we have to do is SIMPLY approach ONE person / family whatever way possibly we can and beg to ask the person to CHANT the Maha Mantra to attain and enhance the merits to make our lives sublime ;
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare,
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.
OM TAT SAT.
Hare Krishna. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I couldn’t help but think after watching this ISKCON propaganda film that Yadubara Prabhu missed his opportunity of a #1 movie hit by omitting Srila Prabhupada’s poisoning and not exposing Tamal and his co-conspirators with their stolen assets.
Just think of the comedy the viewers would have enjoyed by watching the GBC rascals posing as ultimate rulers of a centralized hierarchical institutional structure full of institutionalized zombies bowing down and obeying anyone with a stick.
Yadubara failed to show the empty temples now supported by westernized Indians that were once full and thriving and he didn’t explain the reason why, which was because all of them disobeying Srila Prabhupada simple instructions:
“Don’t be dependent on anyone else. Become self-independent. And don’t be after money. Simply produce your bare necessities of life. Keep yourself fit, strong. Chant Hare Krsna, read my books. Then you’ll grow strong. Is there any difficulty?” (Srila Prabhupada lecture Oct. 5th, 1975 Mauritius).
