Current Pedophile Guru Lokanath “swami” Admission Letter

Please Note: This a letter of admission written by Lokanath Maharaj.
This letter was co-written by Bhakti Charu Swami and Armarendra, with assistance from Badrinaraya Swami – only AFTER Satya (the sexual child abuse victim) wrote her “I am that girl” public statement and the aforementioned GBC members and advisors insisted it be written.

Lokanath Swami Admission Letter

FROM: LOKANATH SWAMI
“Dear Devotees,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

With this letter I would like to bring the following distressing and unfortunate matter to your attentio
n.

In 1990 I was in the United States, staying at the house of a devotee family of Indian origin. During my visit, there were some very regrettable incidents that took place between me and their eleven and a half year old daughter Satya, in which I sexually abused her. I sincerely apologize for this despicable behavior on my part, which has caused Satya considerable grief and distress.

The circumstances of the incident are as follows: While I was leading the Worldwide Padayatra program, I suffered a broken leg. While recovering with my right leg in a cast, I stayed for about a week with the Indian devotee family. During this stay, the father frequently asked me to preach to members of his family, including Satya, and the incidents occurred in the course of my interactions with her. I would sometimes sit inappropriately close to her, and pat her when, for example, she played the harmonium very nicely.

I was also asked by Satya’s father to wake her up on time each morning, as she would not listen to her father. One morning I noticed that she was running late. While chanting in my room, I saw her in the room directly opposite mine. She was still wearing a long T-shirt that she used as a nightgown. She was upset that I saw her dressed in this way. When I told her to go to take her shower, she ran into her room to hide from me. I made her come out, and as she ran past me. I then said, “Go and take your shower!” and slapped her on her rear end with my hand, which I acknowledge was completely unacceptable.

The incident that most distressed Satya, however, took place one morning in the living-room. As we sat reading together, I touched her right thigh and moved my hand between her knee and upper thigh, over her clothing. While I was touching her upper thigh region, I also touched her private part. Satya was clearly shocked and disturbed by this act, and I was immediately overcome by regret and shame at my actions.

My transgressions were not consciously planned. I realize, however, that had I kept strictly to the proper etiquette of a devotee and sannyasi, I would have been protected and would not have committed these reprehensible acts, for which there is no excuse, and which I regret beyond words.

In 1993, Satya brought these incidents to the attention of the GBC. In response, a committee of seven GBC members was promptly appointed to investigate her allegations. I was immediately suspended from initiating further disciples, and my movements within ISKCON were restricted. The GBC also instructed me to seek help from a group of mental health professionals specializing in child molestation.

The mental health professionals conducted an evaluation over several days that consisted of multiple clinical interviews, psychosocial and psychosexual histories, and various other tests. Some of the main conclusions of the professionals were as follows:

– I am not a pedophile.

– I do not pose a danger of overt sexual violence toward women and children.

– The incidents occurred under unusual circumstances, with inadequate precautions.

– With proper counseling and strict oversight, I should be able to avoid a repeat of this behavior in the future.

– I acted in a clearly inappropriate manner towards Satya.

– My actions subjected Satya to an extremely disturbing and traumatic experience common to victims of sexual abuse.

Satya was also interviewed by a professional female devotee specializing in child molestation. The results of that evaluation, however, are confidential.

After performing a complete investigation, the GBC Committee was very disturbed by my deviations, and suspended me from initiating for at least five years. They further ordered me to spend at least two months in Vrindavan in a mood of repentance. While in Vrindavan, I intensely prayed to Srila Prabhupada and Sri Sri Krsna Balarama for spiritual strength, so that such behavior never occurs again.. By the causeless mercy of Their Lordships, Srila Prabhupada and the Vaisnavas, my record has been spotless since 1990.

I have also sought forgiveness directly from Satya – both in writing and in person. I offered my obeisances and apologies to her in the presence of her brother, and the family at the time appeared satisfied. Satya was like a spiritual daughter to me. Because of false pride and arrogance, I disobeyed the firm commands of Sastra, and have suffered an unbearable reaction. I have sincerely learned my lesson.

I sincerely regret these incidents and am very much repentant. I again offer my heartfelt apologies for the pain and distress I have caused Satya, and pray that she and her family may forgive these terrible transgressions.

Praying for the mercy of the Vaisnavas,

I remain,
Your worthless servant,
Lokanath Swami

Childmolester Lokanath – Sum Total of the Demigods – Receives Foot Washing

COMMENTS:

Thanks for sharing. I’m disturbed by how many devotees in the UK still support LS. It’s upsetting.

Despite his flowery words which attempt to downplay and minimise his actions ….he still needs to pay the bill. Why is he still in saffron ffs…touted as good as God? What about paying your debt rather than having the ego to think an apology will suffice.
Rip off that false garb and live like a renunciate.. pay out to Satya or do a prison term, anything other than flowery words. Action is needed now not useless words.

Lokanath should step down, and has been asked to step down, but since he won’t, he should be removed by the leaders.

SB 3.12.33 PURPORT: The best way to compensate for one’s sinful acts is to give up one’s body at once, and Brahmā, the leader of the living entities, showed this by his personal example. Brahmā has a fabulous duration of life, but he was obliged to give up his body due to his grievous sin, even though he had merely contemplated it in his mind without having actually done it.

This is a lesson for the living entities, showing how sinful an act it is to indulge in unrestricted sex life. Even to think of abominable sex life is sinful, and to compensate for such acts, one has to give up his body. In other words, one’s duration of life, blessings, opulence, etc., are decreased by sinful acts, and the most dangerous type of sinful act is unrestricted sex.

Justice for Satya dasi in Lokanath Swami Case

Mr. Patil (Lokanath Swami) claims that he did not “consciously plan” to sexually assault Satya dasi, and that while he did touch her private part, he was immediately “overcome by regret and shame.” Of course, these are the words from the letter that was co-authored by Bhakti Charu Swami, Armarendra, and Badrinaraya Swami, so it is really anybody’s guess at who came up with the claim that Mr. Patil didn’t consciously plan to sexually abuse Satya dasi.

[PADA: Yes,  this is a big mystery itself. Supposedly a letter was forged with Lokanath swami signing on, but now his followers are saying he never wrote or even agreed to this letter. Why was nothing said about this “forged letter” in all this time? And yes, what does he really say?]

Here are excerpts of one particular incident, from 4 different sources. The incident in question involves Lokanatha requesting Satya dasi to read from Srimad-Bhagavatam or KRSNA Book one morning during his visit.

Here is Mr. Patil’s account, taken from his 2010 letter of admission:

“As we sat reading together, I touched her right thigh and moved my hand between her knee and upper thigh, over her clothing. While I was touching her upper thigh region, I also touched her private part. Satya was clearly shocked and disturbed by this act, and I was immediately overcome by regret and shame at my actions.”

Here is Satya dasi’s account which was also released in 2010:

“The next day, he called me in the living room, and asked me to bring the Krsna book and read it to him. He had me sit RIGHT NEXT TO HIM, leaving no space between us. He PLACED HIS HANDS ON MY CROTCH, NOT ON MY LAP, and said I am keeping the book from touching you there, so just keep reading.

He kept his hand there, and any time my mother would walk by the room, he would QUICKLY REMOVE HIS HAND AND PLACE IT ABOVE MY HEAD (around me). He did this several times throughout the course of an hour, and after that sick feeling inside me became the most prominent thing for me, I told him I was tired, and I left the room.”

Here is an account from Satya dasi’s interview which was conducted in 1993:

Satya dasi (SD):
I was in the kitchen with my mother, and so he said, “Satya dasi, come over here. You read the Srimad-Bhagavatam to me.” And he was patting the sofa, you know, meaning, “come here and sit next to me.” So, you know, I really didn’t think anything of it so I sat next to him and I for about ten minutes, and then all of a sudden he put his hand on my private area and, I guess, I don’t know…

Female devotee interviewing Satya dasi (FD): He just put it there when you were reading.

SD: Yes, he put it there when I was reading and I didn’t know what he was doing. I was really, like, shocked, and then, you know, I started getting scared, you know, think what might he do. And…

FD: Did you call anyone, or say anything or…

SD: No, because I was scared, you, I didn’t know what to do. So I finally, you know, said, I can hold this myself. And he just…

FD: What do you mean hold, hold what?

SD: Hold the Srimad-Bhagavatam by myself. I didn’t need him to hold it for me and put his hand in my private area to support the book.

FD: Oh I see, that was how he…

SD: Had done it.

FD: He put his hand to support the book, you mean?

SD: Yes, supposedly, but, you know, I could feel his hand, you know, on my private area, and I just felt…

FD: It just rested there, as if he was holding the book, or was he actually doing something, or…

SD: It just stayed there, but, you know, still, it shouldn’t have been done.

FD: Okay. I was just asking to be clear. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be too pushy about it. Okay, so then what happened? You were scared.

SD: So I finally got the courage to say, “I can hold this myself.” And he just smiled and he said, “Yes, okay, read, keep reading.” And I was so scared, and you know, finally, about a half and hour later, I guess, I don’t know how it ended. I guess he let me go, or I don’t know, but I felt very disgusted and terrible. I can’t describe the feeling, it’s just like I felt very dirty and I told my mother, I was crying to her, and she didn’t think anything of it. She just like, oh yeah, ok, because, you know, I was only a little kid. And…

FD: What was everybody else doing during that half an hour?

SD: My mother was in the kitchen and everybody else had – no one else was home. And his servant, his disciple, was upstairs, I don’t know – reading or I don’t know what he was doing. But his disciple had been reading prior to that and I guess he asked his disciple to, you know, go do something, so meanwhile he asked me to come over and read to him, and that when this incident occurred.

Here is the GBC’s official statement, released in 1999, concerning this same incident:

“However, the incident that most distressed the girl took place one morning in the living-room. The two sat close together on a couch reading from a volume of the Krsna book, with Lokanath Swami’s servant going in and out of the room and the girl’s mother cooking in the adjoining kitchen. As they sat reading together, Lokanath Swami’s hand touched and moved across the girl’s upper thigh over her clothing.

The psychologists who evaluated this matter had no doubt that the girl had undergone a disturbing and even traumatizing experience. When questioned, Lokanath Swami could recognize the various individual episodes that had caused her disturbance, and he confessed to the emergence in himself, during the incident of reading together, of shameful feelings.” –

The GBC’s official account of the molestation of Satya dasi by Lokanath also includes the following statement:

“It’s conclusion, arrived at after much discussion, was that Lokanath Swami’s fault quite exactly exemplified what Srila Prabhupada termed an “accidental” mistake (B.G. 9. 30-31).

Lokanath Swami’s transgression was not planned or premeditated. It was, to use Prabhupada’s terminology, unconscious, not willful, unknowing. (See for example, the conversation of May 10, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio and the morning walk of January 9, 1976 in Madras.)”

In reference to the GBC’s version of events, Badrinarayan dasa (co-author of Lokanatha’s admission of guilt letter) said the following in a private correspondence in 1999

“It was more than this. His hand was palm down, it was over her private area, he moved it away when the mother or other family member came in the room and then moved it back when they left. The girl moved his hand and he moved it back. I want to let Lokanath Maharaj off the hook and I know this is a disaster for him, but with this version, I think we (including Maharaj) may all lose whatever credibility and good will we have left.”

Looking through these various descriptions of what took place we can see that while the GBC’s official account and Lokanath Swami’s account depend on his portrayal as mostly innocent; subject to an accidental blunder and unknowingly committing some wrongful action, Satya’s account, her interview and Badrinarayan’s account (intended as a private communique in 1999) reiterate a much more graphic and horrifying scenario.

Simply, the act of pulling his hand away from her crotch as Satya’s mother would walk by implies that, in his mind, he knew that what he was doing was completely wrong and would land him in an awful lot of trouble. The GBC’s official statement that “Lokanath Swami’s transgression was not planned or premeditated. It was, to use Prabhupada’s terminology, unconscious, not willful, unknowing.” is a blatant distortion of the truth.

The specific effort to hide his activity by suggesting his disciple to leave so he could be alone with her, by pulling his hand away when other adults were close by, by committing to repeated instances of sexual abuse over the course of his visit all suggest that Lokanath Swami knew that what he was doing was completely wrong, and that in order to avoid getting caught and punished, he had better take appropriate action to conceal his activities.

[PADA: Yes, India’s ICC Bureau says Lokanath is doing great preaching. And what  is he preaching? That God’s guru successors are often illicit sex with men, women, children — and evidently sex with cats, sex with taxi drivers, and porno swamis, and Vodka drinkers, and people who are having sex with a dozen disciples etc. and they are also orchestrating murders of dissenters.

So as soon as the ICC finds a nice pile of debauchees, who are creating mass child molesting, who are having illicit sex left, right and center, and who are orchestrating murders, and countless other crimes, they fall off their chairs and think they have found the reincarnations of Jesus! Yep, it is God’s chain of gurus! Who knew! ys pd]

PADA: Yes, first of all — when I was saying there is a molesting program going on, many people / ok most people / especially the seniors / leaders said “you are a liar and an offender who is trying to destroy ISKCON.” Then, when we had their program sued for $400,000,000, many of them / ok most of them / switched horses mid-stream and started to say “yes there is a huge problem, but the children are just getting their karma.”

In other words, the seniors, elders and leaders wanted to avoid taking responsibility for being the creators and / or hand maidens / sycophants of the child abuse crisis. Now, the victims are to blame, not those of us seniors / leaders who avoided taking the crisis to task as we should have done decades ago. It is called victim blaming. “She was attacked because she was wearing the wrong dress.”

It is the psychology of victim shaming that has been going on since time began … but it is horrendous for the victims, and has caused many of the ISKCON victims untold grief, as they have told me personally. ys pd

LM DASI: It’s not just woman and girls though. Many of them are trained as brahmacharis to believe and act that [misogynist] way, but the pedophilia ring that happened was basically all attacking little boys.

They really screw up men’s minds with how to treat woman, and how they should treat us as “dumb and duty full.” We are their servants.

After all, women are automatically subordinate, because they just scientifically are according to SP, or submissive in an ancient Vedic “civilized” way. I honestly don’t understand why so many Krsna conscious devotees act as if everything that counts is all about the body, when we are told that we are spirit souls, not this body.

“Oh, but your soul’s female body is demonic. …It just came from Hell, so I’m going to punish you even more because so and make sure you go back there again — rather than help you get free, as I should. It’s such a contradiction because they want it to be one. They want to use the idea of women being submissive to exploit them.

I truly do appreciate everything that you [PADA] did in the past to protest and try to get others to open their EyE and try to recognize that their children are violently being molested and abused — and to try to stand up and do something about what was going on within the institution, because I know how dangerous it truly was for children, and women, and the vulnerable.
