Child abuse is criminal activity, it is not a ‘fall down’. It is important leaders and those in responsibility to stop child abuse and to think that’s the place they make gbc meetings etc. Regarding these matters and its happening under their noses, so why have they let it go on for so long. Criminal activity requires the law of the country to intervene and he should have been reported to the legal authorities not given chance after chance at the expense of iskcon reputation and Srila Prabhupada’s reputation. No one is stopping him from chanting and making amends with Krishna and purifying himself but he should not be allowed on the premises where women and children are. He should be allowed senior association of sannyasi and advanced devotees and that’s it. Someone from senior advanced people could counsel him and give him association from a distance but he should not be allowed on the premises if he is a danger. Very sad state of affairs.

We need to protect the purity of what Srila Prabhupada has entrusted us with. For those who have suffered – my deepest sorrow and apologies for what has happened to you. For the up and coming generations that are adopting zero tolerance to unvaisnava-like behaviour…my deepest respect to you. When we had Srla Prabhupada’s vapu, we could gain direction for most dilemmas. I ponder what reaction Srila Prabhupada would have about this, the thunderbolt or the rose? M. Lilasuka dd from the CPO in North America forwarded me a link to this Vedic Inquirer Advancing Child Protection. After reading many of the recent posts, I decided to join the group and submit the following:
Recently I’ve read and heard so many examples of senior devotees in ISKCON- GBCs, sannyasis and gurus, who knew very well of so much of the abuse, but chose to remain silent, and in some cases even supported the abusers and molesters, quoting “api cet sudaracaro”.
Srila Prabhupada wanted leaders in his movement to be acaryas – teachers by example. It seems many of the leaders we have now — have gone down a dangerous path. Yes they are leaders, but leading people to the darkest regions of hellish life [and taking children with them].
Desiring to maintain friendly and peaceful relationships with the devotees I have not wanted to say anything, but I have one experience I would like to share with this group. In my service, traveling and doing the Ratha-Yatras, & Hare Krishna Festivals of India in North America, I’ve been bringing young men, mostly second generation devotees, on the tour every year since about 1980. During the summer Festival Tour I get to know all the young men on the tour, as we travel in close quarters, we all serve together, take prasadam together, and in order to keep the program running smoothly we do our best to maintain close friendly relationships.
Two of the young men on the tour in 1995, Nandu (Yasomatinanda Prabhu’s son) and Gopal, stayed with us in Prabhupada Village (Sandy Ridge, North Carolina) to help me repair and rebuild the exhibits. Our goal was to get all the exhibits in first class condition for the Centennial Year – 1996, Srila Prabhupada’s 100th year.
During the 1995 tour getting to know Nandu and Gopal (who were both in the Vrindavan Gurukula–Krishna Balaram Mandir for years) I heard so many complaints and allegations about Dhanurdhara Swami. They were both angry with Dhanurdhara Swami. The complaints were mostly from what they experienced in gurukula, but also from as recent as the 1995 summer tour when we were in New York and Dhanurdhara Swami invited Nandu to go to a preaching program with him a few days before the New York Ratha-yatra. We’ll skip the details as they are not appropriate for most listeners.
At the end of the 1995 tour, in October when we were back in Prabhupada Village, Sridhar Swami (Srila Prabhupada’s disciple, now deceased) was visiting. I went on several japa walks with Sridhar Swami when he was in Prabhupada Village. These are sensitive subjects and not comfortable to speak about, but I asked Maharaj, “Some of the boys traveling with me are complaining and making several allegations against the sannyasi who runs the gurukula they went to. What should I do?” Maharaj replied, ‘What sannyasi’? I told him, “Dhanadhara Maharaj.” Sridhar Swami said “Dhanurdhara Maharaj, I know him well, he is straight as an arrow, completely Krishna conscious, and very austere…”
I went on to tell him, “I do not know Dhanurdhara Swami at all; what I do know is these young men with me are telling me many things about him, that he’s beating some of the boys in the ashram, and being visited late at night by a female in white sari…” I also asked Sridhar Swami if there was still a Sannyasi Committee who would at least look into some of these allegations. “I am hearing from young men. What am I supposed to do when I hear complaints like this?” He told me to contact Murli Vadaka Prabhu, who was supposed to be in charge of things like this.
I called Murli who was in charge of the gurukula ashram in Alachua at the time, and he said I should send the boys to get interviewed by Bir Krishna Maharaj who is right here in North Carolina, just a couple hours from Prabhupada Village. Murli also explained that there was a Mataji, I think her name was Mother Yasoda devi dasi, in Bir Krishna Maharaja’s temple who is a professional who deals with these things regularly in her job.
I spoke with Bir Krishna Maharaj and set up an appointment to bring Nandu and Gopal to him to get interviewed. When I approached Nandu and Gopal and said we have an interview set up so they can go tell all they know about Dhanurdhara to the GBC in charge of these things, both of them said, “No way, we both have younger brothers who were in the Vrindavan Gurukula…” They were afraid that if they spoke about Dhanurdhara Swami to the authorities, they thought their brothers would get beaten and tortured.
I tried to convince them to go to the authorities and tell the truth about Dhanurdhara, then the authorities could do the needful and remove him from his position of abusing so many boys. At least try to go through the proper channels to get justice. Nandu and Gopal finally agreed.
They went to Hillsborough and met for a full day, giving their testimony, giving all the details. When Nandu and Gopal returned to Prabhupada Village the next day, they appeared to be peaceful, like they ‘got a heavy load off their back’. I asked them what happened. They said Maharaj interviewed them and they told Maharaj everything they knew about Dhanurdhara Swami. We went back to work on the exhibits and preparing all Festival of India’s equipment–getting ready for the Centennial Celebrations coming in 1996.
About a week later, I called Bir Krishna Maharaj just to follow up. I asked him, “I’m checking in to see if you are moving the boys allegations on to the Sannyasa Committee, or what is the process?” Bir Krishna Maharaj in less than 2 minutes told me: “After closely analyzing my interview with Nandu and Gopal I’ve concluded that they were young arrogant boys and Dhanurdhara Swami was the authority in the gurukula. We all know that young boys do not like authorities, and so I am dismissing their whole testimony as 99% fabrication. It is not going past me, it’s done. Thanks for calling.”
I was alarmed. I really could not believe that he would not at least turn it over to the Sannyasa Committee. I felt guilty, and I did not want to tell Nandu and Gopal what the Swami said to me. Prabhupada Village, at that time in 1995, was a young community, started in 1992, so I did not want to have any friction or problems with Bir Krishna Gosvami (BKG), whose temple is just 80 miles southeast of Prabhupada Village. BKG was, and still is, the GBC for North Carolina. I was already hearing from a few devotees that BKG was saying some negative things about Prabhupada Village and myself.
I was thinking at the time that perhaps the Swami is just too busy, or something else distracting him so he could not follow up on this testimony from two young men who spent years in the Vrindavan Gurukula. Now, after hearing of so many devotees in exalted positions covering up, hiding, looking the other way, pretending not to see, and even supporting known abusers, I no longer think Bir Krishna Gosvami was distracted or too busy.
There is a very real and disturbing pattern here that has caused many devotees to lose faith in the system- especially faith in gurus and sannyasis who are supposed to be avowedly truthful. Who can have faith in a GBC, a guru, or a sannyasi that says everything is ok while he pretends not to know about serious criminal activities like abusing underage boys and girls- especially while in the sannyasa ashram, or intentionally hiding and covering up others in the renounced order who deviate and do not even follow the basic 4 regulative principles that every new bhakta is required to follow before even getting first initiation.
I really do not like to think about these things. I always had faith that somehow Srila Prabhupada and Mahaprabhu would keep Their ISKCON movement on track, but there seems to be an extremely dangerous pattern here – Covering up, hiding criminal activity, and exploiting their so-called exalted positions, etc. Criminals & cheaters should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law; only then will abusers, predators, and pretenders see that they cannot live in Srila Prabhupada’s movement.
I’m now reading a newly published book, “Srila Prabhupada’s Hidden Glories”. Chapter 122 is titled, “Abuse of Men, Women, and Children”, and gives some examples of how so many leaders in Srila Prabhupada’s movement have neglected to give protection to devotees that they were supposed to be responsible for. GBCs are supposed to be setting ideal examples for the rest of the society.
Most of them have failed by not following even basic principles that Srila Prabhupada instructed ALL of the devotees to follow. Some may follow very nicely and preach very nicely, but why is it that they did not stop abuse that the full GBC body was aware of? The whole GBC body were given reports from the Child Protection Office (CPO) about Bhakti Vidya Purna (BVP) and others-why was nothing done?
Even though the CPOs have presented so many reports, the GBCs swept most of it under the rug. How could BVP have lasted so long in Mayapur after so many reports were presented to the full GBC body? Why do others in the renounced order of life, sannyasa, tolerate behavior like BVP? His actions are making a laughing stock of the sannyasa order. What honest man will want to join or support Srila Prabhupada’s mission when criminals are given shelter and supported by the leaders?

Therefore a person who is situated in Krsna consciousness and is engaged with determination in the process of chanting Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare should be considered to be in the transcendental position, even if by chance or ACCIDENT he is found to have fallen. The words sadhur eva, “he is saintly,” are very emphatic. They are a warning to the nondevotees that because of an ACCIDENTAL FALLDOWN a devotee should not be derided; he should still be considered saintly even if he has fallen down ACCIDENTALLY. And the word mantavyah is still more emphatic. If one does not follow this rule, and derides a devotee for his accidental falldown, then he is disobeying the order of the Supreme Lord. The only qualification of a devotee is to be unflinchingly and exclusively engaged in devotional service.

‘Karma’ is a component of every action and reaction within the material world. It is ALSO karma that criminals, enablers, child molesters and sadists are exposed and punished.
Lord Krishna is tri-kala-jna (knower of past, present and future and knows a devotees heart!), so when He see’s that a devotee is sincere, and a righteous warrior for truth ……. then he ‘opens that devotees eyes!’ as they can see what others cannot …….. this is often a painful process! I do not recall us meeting in Vrndavan. (but I also have a bad memory). In the 80s I was (like many others) fooled into accepting a bogus “guru’ but have accepted Srila Prabhupada as my bona-fide diksa guru for over a decade.

Pancaratna does not address this issue. Nor does he address the issue that us “child abuse” whistleblowers are often systematically banned, if not beaten, sued and assassinated. Nor does Pancaratna address the fact that the cheer leaders and enablers of this molester worshiping society would have to be removed in order to really clean up the issue. And no wonder, since he is one of the enablers for 46 years.
Now ISKCON wants to shift the legal liability away from the society to the rank and file temple leaders. And we are going to keep the worst case founder fathers of the molester guru process in office, like Jayapataka. And keep the enablers of this process in office, like Pancaratna, and that will clean this up. Simultaneously, we are going to make the rank and file legally responsible for our pedophile pooja society, that worships known pedophiles like Lokanath, and other deviants if not pedophiles now worshiped in samadhis.
And in sum — we are now going to make the rank and file temple presidents legally liable for our promoting pedophiles as our messiahs, and our having a policy of banning, beating, suing and killing the whistleblowers. Are we making any sense of this nonsense yet?
A devotee said this is like the story of Humpty Dumpty. They made a pedophile guru program, where children have been getting molested left, right and center. Now they are going to keep the people who orchestrated that society in office, and shift the legal blame to the rank and file for their molester process. OK guess what, no one will want to become a second echelon leader if they are legally liable for your bogus system. SD: 3 of the 5 main REGIONAL managers for ISKCON Bangladesh were found to have perpetrated sexual abuse against at least 17 children in the gurukula there. When the CPO visited last year to investigate, 17 children were poisoned and sent to the hospital to prevent them from being interviewed.
[PADA: Yes, well we said all along that Mayapur and its environment is a haven for molesters. They are attempting to clean up things now to a lesser extent, but only at the lower tier small fry level. It is small time window dressing so they can make pretend they are doing something big.
But! The top leaders who orchestrated this whole thing for 45 years are untouchable MAFIA-osa, like Bhavananda, Jayapataka, Bhakti Vikas swami, Pancaratna, Basu Ghosh, Lokanath, Gopal Krishna etc. They never get the axe.
Would they poison some children to make them unable to testify? I believe they would, yup. They also fed a devotee food with crushed up broken glass when he complained about Mayapur, and he was passing blood out of his stools and the doctors found glass particles. He was probably more lucky than other dissenters who got worse punishment. So we don’t advise to go there to fix it, they are dangerous and violent pedophile messiah’s lovers.

Churches are not charities but service providers and even the Bible says in Romans 13, verses 6 and 7 that churches must pay tax to the government. Churches ignore these verses because they get in the way of easy money. However, a market-based, free society has the tax office, the law, and competitive pressures to all but eradicate the diseases that plague the modern church. The churches support the state in Australia because the state pays them to stay open.
We were told to denounce freedom and submit to people in power because they had been ordained by God, and by obeying them, we were obeying God. This is Covid Theology. I was told that the Bible teaches our absolute submission to the state. We must obey the state because any opposition is opposing God who appointed our political leaders. I was told that the heart of my faith was not to be found in the freedom of Christ, but in obedience to people in power whom God had decided would make decisions on my behalf. Amish and Mennonites (also Swiss) had the right Idea by establishing their rural communities and NOT building temples, but rather congregational worship within their homes (like Nam Hatta) and not relying on machines, phones, cars etc. They are also against “vaccinations” and “blood transfusion”. This has proven to be a very wise move on their part as they grow their own food and make their own clothes.
A much greater proportion of them (than “Church” going Christians) are vegetarians also.
I am bottling peaches at the moment (about 4 cases) which I grow in my suburban garden. I have 3 olive trees, 1 lemon, 1 orange, 1 lime, 1 apricot, 1 mulberry, 1 fig, 1 plum (made jam last week!) about 1 dozen grape vines and 2 guavas, mint, coriander, rosemary, and dandelions. I started of a bit of a ‘set and forget’ gardener but it actually takes a bit of constant care. I can see why Srila Prabhupada wanted to establish a more rural lifestyle as these cities (and suburbs) are becoming worse by the day.

My birth name is XXXXXX. I am XX years old. I’m initiated by H.H Jayapataka Swami Maharaja. My birthplace is Mayapur Dham and I am a Bengoli. I live in XXXXX, Mayapur. My parents belong to the XXXXX community. My father and Uncles are not members of ISKCON.
After I finished school, I started serving in ISKCON Mayapur Land Office since I was 18 years old. My wife has helped me to put together this letter as my English is not so good, but I want my horrific experiences to be heard. When I served in land department, I along with my brothers risked our lives several times to protect and acquire land for ISKCON Mayapur at all costs.
PADA: We are told some local farmers were attacked in different ways to extort their land.
We were sent out as an army of men to protect the land whenever there was a dispute. Many times we were severely beaten by local goonda’s. But we continued to serve Srila Prabhupada regardless of the pain we felt. It was our pride and duty to help ISKCON Mayapur.
Unfortunately, along the way we have been victims of serious sexual abuse. I feel so humiliated to even share this publicly but recently when my fellow young XXXX brother serving in the security department, came out publicly with his experience, I lost control and couldn’t keep quiet anymore. This young man works as a security guard and he was repeatedly sexually abused.
He has all the text messages, voice messages etc as evidence. Myself along with a group of other young XXXXX boys have also been sexually abused and exploited by Jagadatiya Prabhu, J.D (present Land in charge of ISKCON Mayapur).
When I was 18 years old and starting my service in Land Office, Jagadatiya Prabhu invited me to stay over at his house and at night time he sexually abused me. I was very shocked, ashamed and angry but being a young man, only 18 years old, I was powerless to defend myself. I was shaking and in complete panic and didn’t sleep the whole night. I was in complete fear. In the morning Jagadatiya Prabhu pretended that nothing happened and went on with the day as normal.
As a married bengoli man, I feel too embarrassed to write all the details of the abuse here, but I am filing a police report and will include everything there along with my medical reports. After putting it off for so long due to lack of money, I recently underwent surgery for my backside. For three months I was bed ridden and couldn’t walk. I spent more than 5 Lakhs Rupees on surgery. I will share all medical certificates with the authorities.
PADA: It evidently is what Sulochan said it is, a butt buster guru program. I need surgery on my back side, because ok evidently, the GBC are what Sulochan said they are “an anus sex pooja program.”
I was disgusted and sad that someone whom I looked up to and respected so much could violate my private space and my body for his own personal homosexual needs. I have lived with the pain and shame for many years now. But there is more shocking information that I would like to share with the leaders.
Our Co-Director’s knew full well about Jagadatiya Prabhu’s homosexual abusive tendencies. When ever evidence was shown to them it was covered up as nothing. Me and my brothers personally saw Jagadatiya Prabhu watching homosexual porn in the office while we were all working. He didn’t even try and hide it.
He was very confident and proud. I heard from many other young devotee men how Jagadatiya Prabhu would sexually exploit them. But because we are Bengoli devotees and have been given a ‘Mafia Reputation’, by our Co-Director’s no one would listen to us. ISKCON Mayapur didn’t mind to use our physical strength when they needed their lands protected, but if we spoke up about the abuse, we were labeled as dacoits, perverts.
Two years ago, I tried to get get some justice for the abuse I faced. I personally told Braja Vilasa Prabhu and Subheksana Prabhu, our two co-directors about the horrible abusive experience I had, and neither of them took any action or gave any support. In fact they put Jagadatiya Prabhu in charge of the land office knowing his nature. If these two Co-Directors deny that I informed them then I will become very upset.
Because how can a victim have any evidence that they told their authorities that they are abused. Authorities are supposed to be persons of integrity and provide protection. They didn’t tell me to put anything into writing, they just heard me out and ignored me. How can Braja Vilasa Prabhu and Subheksana prabhu be so shameless and put a known sexual predator in power of position.
It has become common knowledge amongst the local devotees that Braja Vilasa Prabhu has one agenda only – to complete TOVP. And he will do this at any cost, even at the cost of victims pain. Every festival in Mayapur whether it is Mahaprabhu’s abhisheka or my Gurudeva’s Vyasa Puja, every single big program where masses are gathered, becomes a shouting session, meaning Braja Vilasa Prabhu takes the mic and demands donations.
Local devotees feel so embarrassed when he does this but no one can say anything or they will get fired. He is so fixed on collecting for the million dollar temple, and in meantime our local Bengoli devotees are breaking their backs in service. We get such low salaries that many of us have to do side businesses just to pay for our children’s school fees. Braja Vilasa spent lakhs in building the ILS Pandal, that money could feed our families for years to come.
These Co-Directors put a known abuser in a position of authority and they cannot deny it, the whole Bengali community will testify to this. All the boys, mothers and fathers are so angry at Co-Directors. Jagadatiya Prabhu also has an office in the BVNS primary school. Many times he is seen being very affectionate to 16-17years old Bengali boys.
Everyone is afraid of him so no one makes any complaint even though they feel very uncomfortable. When I wanted to meet Braja Vilasa Prabhu he treated me like an animal and made me wait outside his office in the summer sun for several hours before speaking with me. I felt so humiliated. I could hear his assistants saying I am waiting, and he said, yes, make him wait more.
When Braja Vilasa Prabhu became Co-Director he demanded that we all show him the utmost respect due to his new position. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t get any service. Without service we had no way to maintain our families so we had to bow to him. This is how corrupt our Mayapur co-directors are.
Subheksana Prabhu oversees the Land department so he constantly shields Jagadatiya Prabhu and covers up all his nonsense. Subheksana Prabhu makes excuse for every mistake that Jagadatiya Prabhu makes. Even now, Subheksana Prabhu knows how angry the local Bengoli devotees are but still they are both seen publicly seated in the park together for hours. As a leader Subheksana Prabhu has zero compassion for the victims.
All the locals know that Jagadatiya Prabhu is stealing wood and land by the millions. Subheksana Prabhu continues to support him. We do not understand why. Maybe Jagadatiya Prabhu is protecting Subheksana Prabhu’s secrets. In today’s meeting some local devotees said that Subheksana Prabhu proposed marriage to a twelve year old girl. Is that proper behaviour for a leader?
After serving in the land office, in 2021 I started serving in the Boys Gurukula. I was working under Subheksana Prabhu’s brother in law, Baladeva Das. He is my age and was the principal of the Boys Gurukula and he presently oversees all the money in the Gurukula. I was shocked to see how much of cash they deal with, not everything is transferred to ISKCON treasury.
Every six months Baladeva buys a new fancy motor bike (Enfield, BMW, KTM), where does a young grhastha doing devotional service get such money from?) When Subheksana Prabhu became Co-Director he tried to take my own motor bike away claiming that it belonged to ISKCON. This was an abuse of power. After one year of service, when Gurukula Maharaja CPT report came out, Baladeva who is his disciple, quickly resigned as school Principal and immediately fired me from my Gurukula service. A week later he took up my service. Is this right? Why is such nepotism allowed?
Subheksana Prabhu is a Co-Director but he stays in Gurukula apartment and receives Gurukula salary, why? Why is co-Director teaching children and engaging his family in all top services. These two co-directors Braja Vilasa and Subheksana Prabhu took no action and gave zero support to us the victims.
How can such individuals lead our Mayapur project. Me and my XXXX brothers (we are a united village) will not tolerate this anymore. For failing to take any action and putting an abuser in position both these Co-Directors should step down immediately. Any leader who supports and enables sexual abuse is not fit to be a leader. Just because my brothers and I were not children or foreign devotees does not mean we are not victims.
You will be getting several other reports from other young XXXX men – with evidence – showing what we have been through. I am NOT the only one who has been sexually abused by Jagadatiya Prabhu, there are so many others coming out now, a big group almost.
The whole of Mayapur viilagers are talking, everyone is very angry and want to take immediate action. But devotees are also very afraid. We want Jagadaatiya Prabhu, Braja Vilasa and Subheksana Prabhu to step down from their positions immediately. This is not a compromise. At present the only Co-Director in Mayapur is Subheksana Prabhu.
He and Braja Vilasa Prabhu have arranged an immediate ‘internal investigation’ with their own people who work under them. This is ridiculous. I do not agree to this. Someone neutral has to investigate this otherwise again there will be another cover up and this abusive man will keep abusing young men and these Co-Directors will shamelessly protect him and their image.
Jagadatiya Prabhu is very sneaky. He has designed a special system to carefully select his victims. His assistant Devakinandan employs young men that jagadatiya likes. Then Jagadatiya Prabhu checks them out and pretends to be physically affectionate to them, stroke their arm or leg. If they don’t ‘look’ uncomfortable, he engages more. Once he confirms that they are ‘willing’ he then moves them into his personal land office seva.
Once they are in the office he then abuses them and when he is sexually satisfied, the young man is then sent away. When they get this demotion, they become very insecure and this is how he uses his position and power to control them. It’s disgusting. Dear Leaders, Mayapur Dham is our birth land as much as anyone else’s. We are local devotees born and raised here. Our village masses, family, friends, even fellow Muslim brothers are so horrified and disgusted at how we have been treated. We all want our justice.
I don’t want any service from ISKCON anymore. And many others feel this way too. We are so disgusted that so called devotees can behave in such ways. Again, all we want is justice in the form of these 3 devotees, Jagadatiya Prabhu, Subheksana Prabhu and Braja Vilasa Prabhu to be removed from managerial positions immediately.
