Never alone…. | Suvarna Manjari dasi

Hare Krsna

I would like to submit this poem.
It may not be suitable or properly written…I am not a professional writer, but it’s from my heart, a heart which is constantly changing…

Thank you.

“Now, I don’t mind some guidance, some help, some special care – and I appreciate and am in gratitude for all the help that’s there.”

Never alone….

I don’t know how to start this poem,
My heart is filled with rage.
A soul so tortured and confused, trapped in this mortal cage.

Where do I start, how to begin to express what’s trapped inside,
A heart so tortured and confused, in who can I confide?

My modern day Messiah, He came to save our souls, in this age of Kali,
So pure, so brave, so bold.

But other little swamis, they came to take my hand…apparently, apparently, alone I could not stand.

Now, I don’t mind some guidance, some help, some special care
And I appreciate and am in gratitude for all the help that’s there.

But why, oh why are we lied to?
Why is truth not spoken?
Why have so many left, with hearts butchered and broken?

Is it all our fault? Are we to blame?
oh the shame..the shame, the shame.

Swamis in pink dresses, dancing in a parade, parade, parade…
Swamis self made.

I don’t claim to be a saint, for a sinner is what I am,
…but why this guru scam?

And the changing of my Messiahs books?
A word here and a word there…
Behold the grief of the lowly folk,
but what does that swami care.

With pen in hand, how dare he rape these sacred pages?
So that knowledge may disappear as in past forgotten ages.

Must history repeat itself?
Must we suffer more?
Gutted, gutted, gutted… gutted to the core.

One word He said! One word He said! And all will be spoiled, ruined!
…But in this age of kali…can anything be congruent?

I feel so mad! I feel so sad! I feel like I could rip up this page!
…yes…how can anything be congruent in this age, this age, ….this cage.

Is there a use to get upset?
Is there a use to cry?
Just chant the names, just chant the names and grief will pass you by.

Right now I stand, all confused about lies, about truth.

…What does it matter I wonder.
Who cares.
Let it all go to hell.
It’s damaged, beyond repair.
But…for the innocent…that really is not fair.

Have I made too many offenses?
Is that why I can’t see the light?
Is that why I can’t see what is wrong or what is right?

With japa bag in hand
My Messiahs book in bag
…I’m walking, I’m walking.
Walking down this long road,
Sun over head…no-one can stop me, I am never alone…

  1. Mahasana dasa says:

You are not alone, unfortunately, and just about everybody I know feels the same way that you do. What a twisted mess ISKCON has become. Sometimes I feel like just giving up. It is not an easy fight, is it. It has become an embarrassment to tell the conditioned souls, “I am a Krsna devotee.”
There was a time when we practiced what we preached, and had a good reputation. Now, anybody who knows anything, thinks the devotees are a bunch of lunatics and perverts, and it is difficult to argue otherwise.
Back in the ’70’s if someone told me ISKCON would become what it is now, I would have said they were crazy.
I remember thinking, when I lived in the San Diego temple, “I will never leave this movement.” Now I see ISKCON as a perverted reflection, and I want nothing to do with it.
I hope Srila Prabhupada’s original books, somehow or other, last forever. And I hope what happened to Srila Prabhupada in Vrndavana, in 1977, comes out in the open. Srila Prabhupada sacrificed more than just sleep for us.

    Haribol Mahasana das

Thank you for the comment. It is truly sad indeed. I hear you about the being embarrest to tell people that we are Hare Krsnas.
What can be done but just to try and push on from the outside of Prabhupadas mission.

I pray that Iskcon will be saved.

  4. Mahasana dasa says:

Nice purport, Waldemar prabhu. It is full of hope for this desperate, fallen, lazy soul. I need to add the Panca-tattva mantra to my rounds. I usually just chant away, not only haphazardly, but forgetting to sprinkle in the Panca-tattva mantra here and there.

I guess the big picture is that Lord Krsna is completely in control and the demons in MISKCON, no matter how big, and how powerful, how rich, and how clever, will never win, in spite of what seems to be a hopeless situation.

As Suvarna Manjari dasi says, “I pray that ISKCON will be saved,” and I do to. It is like ISKCON is being held captive by Ravana, but, as in the Rama pastime, it was maya-Sita that was taken by Ravana, and it is maya-ISKCON that has been taken by the demons. Still, let us pray that ISKCON will be saved.

Srila Prabhupada said, “I am ISKCON.” So, ISKCON is not the temples or the devotees or even the deities. Rather, wherever Srila Prabhupada is, that is ISKCON, and the attempts to remove Prabhupada from ISKCON is the same as removing ISKCON from the temples, devotees, and the deities. Now, it is all material; it is maya-ISKCON because Prabhupada, who is ISKCON, has been pushed out.

Prabhupada did say that he lives in his books, so, if we go to his books (originals, not maya ones), we will find him and thus ISKCON, so, it seems, if we can save his books we can save ISKCON, perhaps.

Suvarna Manjari, it is very painful, I know, to be ashamed to admit we are devotees because the karmis see us as dirty people, by association. A man (or a woman) is judged by association. We know Srila Prabhupada was glorious, but at the moment, his glory is covered, like the sun covered by a cloud. Somehow or other, we have to convince people, that all is not bogus, that there is also the genuine, and that we adhere to the genuine. Still, it is a nasty affair convincing the envious karmis (who are often carnivorous Christians), that we are not corrupt, like what is being falsely broadcasted as Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON.

Thank you, Suvarna Manjari, for your honesty and, Waldemar prabhu, for your attempt to brighten my life.

Ja też lubię uczyć się intonować i słuchać, japa na koralach, imiona osób ze Śri Śri Panca-tattvy i imiona Ich bona fide wielbicieli.

I also like to learn to chant and listen, japa on beads, the names of persons from Sri Sri Panca-tattvas and the names of their bona fide devotees.

      For example:

      Viśvambhara Gadadhara
      Viśvambhara Gadadhara

  7. Suvarna Manjari dasi says:

Thanks for all the upbeat verses and purports Waldemar Prabhu! Jay Prabhupada indeed! 🙂

Thank you Mahasana Prabhu for your comments. I like the way you compare current Miskcon with Ravana stealing Maya Sita… 🙂

I hope hope hope and PRAY that Prabhupadas original books will be kept intact for the next 10 000 years! I will hand write them if I have to! 🙂

All we can do is pray and try in our small way to follow what Prabhupada gave and give it to others. Keep the flames of our flickering candles of bhakti burning in this very dark time in Kali yuga. If we all keep our flames burning by Prabhupadas mercy, then hopefully very soon a massive bonfire will be created as Prabhupada and Krsnas glories explode all over the universe in full force once again!!!

Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga Ki jay!!!

  8. Excellent! It seems our ranks are filled with many great poets! Panditas.

  9. Somewhere high atop the heavens
    a ragtag army stands
    bead bags in hands
    heads high though in rags
    to mete out Krsna’s leaven

    A neglected army stands
A community of women and men alike
    Uncounquered by the deeping night
    Striving t’ord a distant light
    To fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s plans

    Oh stand, heroic Vaisnava souls
    All see the current need
You are born a differenrt breed
You are our heroes, yes indeed !
Your ideal lives set our live’s goals

    Do abay those fears
    My broken hearts!
    My beloved ones
    You souls apart
    You are but Nityananda’s tears

    Prabhupada! Oh Prabhupada!
You came to turn our hearts to God!
And so we ran to take the dust
Distibute, preach ! We must, we must!
Give us please more, just a little dust
